Description
Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus ieucocephalus) are finishing up their nesting season at the upper Skagit River. Next week is Eagle Festival Days. After that, the eagles will probably break camp and spread out through the state and BC. We saw a few eagles that day, but enough for a few nice pictures. I didn't know that Bald eagles aren't very closely related to Golden Eagles, different species entirely. Wierd.
This eagle allowed us to get the closest we got to one all day, maybe 40-50 yards? Half those we spotted were meer white dots against the dark bark in the distance.
Enjoy!
